This version is also more stable: we fixed an unexpected crash while transcribing on some Macs, and added a button to open the error log and send it to us if something goes wrong.

LocalClip ships with a built-in AI model that writes titles, descriptions and hashtags for each clip — no setup needed. But if you already run a bigger local model, now you can use it.

Already have Ollama, LM Studio or llama.cpp running? LocalClip can detect it and use your model for the captions — often with noticeably better results.

How it works

• 🔍 In Advanced settings, click “Detect my LLM” — LocalClip finds your local models automatically.
• 🧠 Pick any model you have (e.g. a 32B) for sharper hooks and richer hashtags.
• 🔒 Still 100% local — it talks to your model on your machine, nothing leaves your Mac.
• ↩️ Falls back to the built-in model if yours isn't available. Zero setup for everyone else.

LocalClip used to assume every video was in Spanish. Not anymore.

It now auto-detects the language of your video and transcribes it in that language — so your subtitles, titles and hashtags come out right whether you speak English, Portuguese, French, Japanese or anything else.

What changed

• 🌍 Automatic language detection — drop any video, it figures out the language.
• 💬 Subtitles in the video's real language, not a forced one.
• 🧠 AI titles & hashtags in the same language as your content.
• ⚙️ Prefer to set it manually? A language picker is in Advanced settings (auto + 9 languages).

Everything still runs 100% on your Mac, and it's signed & notarized by Apple — just double-click to install.

Installing LocalClip just got a lot easier.

Until now, because the app wasn't signed, macOS showed a scary "LocalClip is damaged" warning and you had to right-click → Open or run a Terminal command to get past it. Not exactly welcoming.

That's gone. LocalClip is now signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple — the same trust process real Mac apps use.

What changes for you

• ✅ Open the DMG, drag LocalClip to Applications, double-click. That's it.
• 🔒 No more "damaged" warning, no Terminal, no workarounds.
• 🛡️ Apple has verified the app contains no malware.

Everything else stays the same: it still runs 100% on your Mac, and your videos never leave your machine.
